DISPERBYK 2001 is a structured acrylate copolymer additive with pigment-affinio groups. It deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization and uniform electrical charge generation. This prevents coflocculation leading to non-floating coloring in pigment blends. As a result of small deflocculated pigment particle size, products achieve high gloss, improved color strength, increased transparency in transparent pigments and higher hiding power in opaque pigments. DISPERBYK 2001 also significantly improves the jetness of carbon blacks. It reduces viscosity improving leveling properties and enabling higher pigment loads. In many systems, DISPERBYK 2001 produces greater millbase viscosity reduction than DISPERBYK 2000. It is recommended for use in applications requiring outstanding pigment dispersion and viscosity reduction, preventing pigment reflocculation even when additives are added later.
