BYK-399

BYK 399 is a silicone-free polymeric leveling additive that provides excellent flow and leveling properties for solvent-borne coatings. As a leveling agent, BYK 399 helps achieve a smooth, even surface finish. It is suitable for all gloss levels and does not negatively impact gloss or haze. BYK 399 offers a slight reduction in liquid surface tension and improved substrate wetting properties, helping to prevent surface defects like orange peel or craters. Its defoaming properties at higher dosages also provide benefits. BYK 399 allows for very good recoatability. It is broadly compatible in solvent-borne 1-pack, 2-pack and baking coating systems, and can be post added at medium shear forces.
